I hope the longshoremen just want concessions from the city and/or Hansen rather than wanting to kill it all together. It would be a shame to get so close just to lose again.

The longshoreman want to use the minimal impact of the arena traffic as a way to point out the overall traffic situation of all of the Stadium District, and anything that isn't warehousing and manufacturing, that has been introduced into the area.
It is a fair point, but the responsibility of addressing the change in land zone to a Stadium District falls on the the city, county, both stadiums, the state that controls the taxes at the stadium sites, the Mariners, Seahawks, the Port of Seattle, and lastly the arena and Chris Hansen.
This is the latest opportunity for them to address the issue.

Mr. Baker, the longshoremen are saying great idea, wrong location. Unless you all want a pissing match with them, the Port, and industry, you all better come up with plan B, or you may be left with nothing.
